The Swedish Winter Sports Research Centre (NVC) has a good reputation among universities in Europe. This means that international students who study sports science are happy to do their internship with us at Mid Sweden University.

In the spring of 2024, NVC has had international interns from the UK, France, Ireland and Germany. This summer, there will be another one from Switzerland.

Arianna Prosser, an intern from Bath University in the UK, believes that NVC has given her invaluable professional experience in sports science.

"Some things that have surprised me about living here are the amount of candy that Swedich people eat, that alcohol has its own shop, and how cold it can get in the peak of winter! says Arianna Prosser.

"I think the best part of placement has to be being able to go skiing on the weekends, I'm really going to miss so close to the mountains," says Arianna.

NVC has agreements for internships with the University of Bath in the UK and the South East Technological University – SETU – in Ireland.

"In recent years, we have also received several interns from Münster in Germany and several from French universities," says center director Glenn Björklund.

"Now we are so established and internationally recognized, as an excellent center for sports science in winter sports, that students spontaneously seek us out to do internships or work as research assistants with us," says Glenn.
