The role of the tourism industry within regional development

More knowledge is needed regarding the tourism industry in Jämtland. This is stated by the tourism research institute ETOUR and Jämtland Härjedalen Tourism (JHT) who are launching a joint project.

Jämtland Härjedalen Tourism, in collaboration with ETOUR, has been granted project funding from Region Jämtland Härjedalen for the project "Besöksnäringens roll för regional utveckling".

Within the framework of the project, interviews will be conducted with companies, destinations, industry organisations and other stakeholders in the region. The results will be summarised in two reports;

Compilation and analysis of publications describing the visitor industry in the region
Compilation and analysis of interviews conducted with the tourism industry's stakeholders in the region

The documentation will serve as input when revising the regional development strategy and the regional visitor industry strategy.
