Nurse´s experience of encounters with people with eating disorders
The overall purpose of the project is to obtain an in-depth knowledge of nurse’s experience of encounters with people with anorexia nervosa.
The research project focuses on encounters between nurses and people with eating disorders, such as Anorexia Nervosa (AN). Most of the research in the field focuses on children and young adults with eating disorders. There is not as much research on adults with eating disorders and how healthcare personnel experience it. The research project wishes to shed light on and deepen the knowledge about how the encounter between nurses and adults with AN in the context of psychiatric inpatient care can be experienced and entailed.
The overall purpose of the project is to obtain an in-depth knowledge of nurse’s experience of encounters with people with AN.
The project has a qualitative approach and is based on narrative interviews with nurses who encounter patients daily in psychiatric inpatient care.
