Aim

In the course, the student makes an in-depth study in the field of power electronics by designing a converter for power electronics. In addition to obtaining and using information from technical literature and related work in the field, the student must be able to model, simulate and implement a system according to the requirements specification.

Course objectives

After passing the course, the student should be able to:
- analyze complex problems based on predetermined goals where an optimal solution is lacking,
- demonstrate the ability to formulate a solution to a given problem in power electronics,
- model, simulate and implement the proposed solution to a given problem based on a requirements specification.

Content

The course includes
- In-depth study of an area in power electronics
- Project in power electronics towards a specific area
- Analysis, systematic problem solving, and implementation of power electronic converter

Entry requirements

Electrical Engineering MA, Control of Power Converters, 7.5 credits.

Selection rules and procedures

The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.

Teaching form

The course is a project course where the work is carried out individually or in a small group. It begins with a lecture where its purpose and goals are presented together with a specification of the project tasks. Teachers provide feedback and guidance to students, at regular project meetings, in order to guide and support students in their work.

The work effort for the entire course normally comprises 240 hours. This means that in addition to the scheduled time, the student must carry out extensive own work.
