Aim
The course aims to provide students with advanced knowledge about the emergence of the experience economy and its implications for business development. Specifically, the course addresses how companies and organizations change and adapt their business development processes, leadership, organization, and marketing to be competitive in the emerging experience economy.
Course objectives
Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- Identify and explain different perspectives on the emergence of the experience economy.
- Explain, discern, and evaluate different views on how companies are affected by the characteristics that define the experience economy.
- Outline, relate, and combine leadership and marketing with business development and business models from various perspectives of the experience economy.
- Construct and defend a delimited scientific work within the field of business development.
Content
The course begins with the emergence of what we call the experience economy in society and in business. The focus will then be on the change process that companies and organizations undergo in business development, business models, leadership, and marketing to be competitive in the experience economy. The course also includes elements from the business sector.
Entry requirements
Business Administration BA (A/B/C) 90 credits, including Business Economics BA (C) at least 30 credits.

The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.
Teaching form
On-Campus Course:
The teaching consists of lectures, seminars, assigned materials, various forms of exercises, and elements from the business sector. Attendance is mandatory for seminars and elements from the business sector (if absent, supplementary assignments are given). Access to a computer with an internet connection is required to complete the tasks included in the course. The language of instruction can be Swedish or English.
Online Course:
The teaching consists of digital lectures, seminars, assigned materials, elements from the business sector, and communication in an online learning platform. Physical meetings are not obligatory, except in cases where a written individual in-class examination takes place. Access to a computer with internet connection is required to complete the tasks included in the course. The language of instruction can be Swedish or English.
Student Responsibility:
Students are responsible for their own learning and are expected to independently seek information and take responsibility for both individual and group work.
Limitation of Teaching:
Teacher-led teaching and support from the course responsible teacher are only offered during the course period when the student is admitted to the course.

2000: Written individual assignment 1, including seminar participation, 3 Credits

Grade scale: Two-grade scale
Seven-point grading scale, A-F and Fx. A-E is passed, Fx and F is failed.
On-Campus Course and Distance Course: During assessment, the examiner may request a supplementary oral presentation from the student to demonstrate the required knowledge. This is to ensure that the student is the actual sender and author of the written work.

Examination restrictions
