Aim
The course objective is that the student will obtain knowledge about technology and technical practices that help reduce environmental impact and efficient use of natural resources.
Course objectives
After completion of the course the student should be able to:
- explain basic environmental engineering concepts
- explain basic principles to minimize environmental impact based on environmental engineering applications
- explain different technologies for renewable energy generation
- explain the basic principles of different energy sources and have knowledge of calculation methods in order to compare different energy solutions and to evaluate its environmental impact in the short and long term
- demonstrate basic meteorological knowledge and based on this, analyze the conditions for renewable energy on a regional scale
- explain methods for air and soil purification and how the methods work
- explain noise problems and know basic methods of noise reduction and calculation of sound propagation
Content
The course contains the following: Material and energy balances, energy resources, renewable energy and its meteorological conditions. Sound propagation and noise management. Air pollution.
The course consists of theoretical moments and assignments.

Grading system
Seven-grade scale, A, B, C, D, E, Fx and F. Fx and F represent fail levels.

This course cannot be part of the same degree as the courses MÖ012G or MÖ014G.
