Aim

The course objective is that the student will obtain knowledge about the concept of Sustainable development from an Environmental Science perspective.

Course objectives

After completion of the course the student should be able to:
- describe the concept of sustainable development from an environmental science perspective.
- outline available methods for assessing sustainable development.
- give an overview of policy instruments to achieve sustainable development.
- demonstrate a systems understanding of the concept of Sustainable Development.

The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.

Teaching form

The teaching consists of lectures, seminars, field trips and various forms of exercises. Computer applications can occur. Students are assumed to be working in thematic and problem-based projects in groups with tasks of increasing difficulty. Some education may be compulsory.
