Alumnus of the Year
Mid Sweden University selects annually a alumni of the year. Anyone with a connection to Mid Sweden University, such as staff, faculty, students, student unions and university alumni, all have the opportunity to nominate.
Among Mid Sweden University’s former students we select one man and one woman each year to the Alumnus of the Year.
The announcement of the winners takes place in conjunction with the University's academic celebration on either campus Sundsvall or Östersund.
All with a link to Mid Sweden University such as staff, students, student unions and university alumni have the opportunity to nominate people to the Alumnus of the Year.
Deadline for nominations 17 May 2024.
Criteria
In order to be designated as an Alumnus of the Year, the person in question
- have completed at least 60 credits (previously 40 credits), equivalent to one year of full-time study at Mid Sweden University or its predecessors
- have a successful career after completing their studies
- willing to be an ambassador for Mid Sweden University and a role model for current and future students
- have a personal approach in their profession, which is in line with the Mid Sweden University's core values; Proximity, Benefits and Curiosity
The decision on who will receive the award will be made by the Principal after a proposal by a review panel composed as follows: Prorector (Chairman), head of Communications, representative of both fachalties. The secretary of the panel is alumni coordinator.
Alumnus of the Year will receive a certificate and can also be offered the opportunity to share their experiences at the university. The two designated alumni are also invited to attend the university's annual academic celebration.
