About the project BRIDGE: Brilliant innovation thorugh digital engagement
A sustainable world is our only future. We at BRIDGE are convinced that students hold many keys to this future. By challenging and stimulating their ideas, we want to free up development processes into solutions that are useful in society.
This project has utilized the knowledge and experience of HEI staff in innovation processes and societal challenges regarding sustainability and thus created a platform to engage students’ digital and academic skills for rapid solution development. The unique quality of this platform lays in its ability to rapidly deliver viable innovative solutions to industry and society that address the challenges that a sustainable future demands. By training to solve future challenges together in interdisciplinary and transnational student teams, skills like innovative mindset, teamwork and leadership are developed.
The project’s main objective was to build capacity to implement on-line blended and distance learning for staff to deliver inclusive digital training by creating an opportunity for Europe's HEIs young professionals to contribute to sustainable innovative solutions, to disseminate knowledge of this platform as widely as possible and also to enhance the national and international competitiveness of participating HEIs students.
A collaboration of HEIs from three different national contexts has delivered a coherent and inclusive methodology in digital format to an international cohort. This methodology is called Digital Impact Day (DID). By creating this interdisciplinary cohort, the DID-platform has encouraged students to learn from each other, and to develop skills and knowledge which are applicable in their future careers and for sustainable development in a wider context.
