The Summer University is Born | 2012 |
In the beginning, the Summer University was a faculty project within the education strategy, but the result was such a success that it soon became a part of the regular activities at the university.
The Summer University is a close collaboration with some of Mid Sweden University’s partner universities and it provides an opportunity for international partner students to come here to study for a couple of weeks during the summer. During the first year, 19 students participated and in the summer of 2014, there were 50 students. Both partner students and Mid Sweden University students are welcome to apply.
– The content of the two summer weeks is planned by teachers at Mid Sweden University and the partner universities together. The idea is that the Summer University will consist of several projects, where students of different backgrounds and competence get the opportunity to work together, says Linda Andersson, Faculty Communications Officer.
The different educational backgrounds and cultures of the students result in interesting study results, but also exciting dinner discussions in the evenings.
