Background

I have a background in military sociology, studying participation in military organizations. At the Swedish National Defense College I was involved in research projects on leadership during trying conditions, and in the development of the leadership concept “Developmental Leadership”. Later I focused on the different roles of followers, which I saw was a neglected area in leadership literature.

From 2007 I’m a member of Risk and Crisis Research Centre (RCR).

Area of interest

My research interest today is collaboration in crisis, focusing on how collaboration is perceived in different organizations and how operating pictures and situational awareness are created during multi-organizational collaboration. I’m particularly interested in collaboration across different sectors, such as the collaboration between emergency services and care organizations or voluntary organizations.

Research

Multi-organizational collaboration during crisis (MOSAIK).

Preparedness and Resilience Against CBRN Terrorism using Integrated Concepts and Equipment (PRACTICE).

Organizing crisis management during events and destination (EVENT).

Literature reviews and commissions.
