Background

Sven Anders Johansson began his university studies in Uppsala in 1990. He received his doctorate at the University of Gothenburg in 2003, while he was living in Peru. After moving back to Sweden in 2005, he made a living as a literary critic and journal editor. In 2010, he got a tenure track position at Umeå University, where he stayed until 2016. In 2017, he got the position of professor at Mid-Sweden University. Johansson has also been a visiting PhD-student at the University of Copenhagen (1998–99), visiting researcher at the University of Amsterdam (2012), visiting professor at Aarhus University (2018), and guest researcher at the Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna (2023).

Teaching and tutoring

Johansson teaches regularly both on undergraduate level and advanced level.

He is currently the supervisor of Osvald Wiklander's and Joni Hyvönen's PhD-projects.
