During Mötesplats Campus, students meet prospective employers and vice versa. Here, important contacts can be made for extra jobs, internships, degree projects and jobs. On thursday, Mötesplats Campus in Östersund was arranged.

– I'm here to explore for summer jobs, says Alva Widell, who is studying environmental science..

– Something in schools and services, or maybe in health care would suit me, so I'll probably talk to one of the municipalities, she continues.

Among the 20 or so employers present, both the municipalities of Östersund and Krokom were represented, but also the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Swedish Tax Agency, CGI and Knowit, among others.

Important to create meeting places

Mötesplats Campus is a collaboration between Mid Sweden University, Östersund Municipality and the Student Union. The day began with a speech by the Student Union's President Emanuel Magnusson and Östersund Municipality's University Coordinator Jessica Stenbäck where they talked about the importance of meeting.

– We are keen to create arenas where students and employers can meet. We have a huge need for skills supply in Östersund, so we want to make it easier for students to stay here after their studies, says Jessica Stenbäck.

For the student union, which has arranged meetings between students and employers for several years, it is about giving the students what they want.

– We've had our ear to the ground and listened to the students, and they want meeting places like this. So we are working above all to make sure that they come here, says the Student Union in Östersund's chairman Emanuel Magnusson.

The students were attracted to Mötesplats Campus with mulled wine, gingerbread cookies and wraps. Not to mention the possibility of future jobs.
