Education Council
Consultative body in the preparation of primarily matters of strategic or university-wide significance and where decisions are to be taken preferably by the university board or the vice-chancellor.
Mission
The Education Council is an advisory body in the preparation of primarily matters of strategic or university-wide significance and where decisions are to be taken primarily by the university board or the vice-chancellor.
The Council initiates and coordinates overarching discussions related to first and second cycle education. The Council has a specific mandate to work on quality assurance and quality follow-up at management level. This is based on the fact that the chairman of the Education Council is responsible for Mid Sweden University’s quality system for undergraduate, advanced and postgraduate education (MIUN 2018/1820).
The Council’s area of responsibility covers both faculties, and the Council is tasked with promoting uniform solutions to common challenges and uniform application of regulations to the extent it is appropriate. The Education Council may set up working groups for specific tasks and appoint participants in the groups. Prior to the appointment of participants, the Council shall consult the immediate head of the persons concerned.
The Education Council is also responsible for follow-up and evaluation and has a coordinating role in the field of mission training (MIUN 2021/2029)
