Physical activity plays a central role in recovery after cancer treatment and can help to strengthen both physical and mental health. Regular exercise reduces the risk of late complications, improves quality of life, and supports the return to everyday life.

To support patients in following advice on physical activity on prescription (FaR), it is important that the region collaborates with local activity providers. A broad and accessible range of activities, adapted to different needs and circumstances, can increase patients’ opportunities to be physically active. Through structured collaboration between healthcare services, civil society, sports associations, and private actors, FaR can become a more effective tool for promoting health and preventing disease.

There is limited knowledge about how cancer survivors experience group exercise at Friskis & Svettis when provided through the region. In this project, we aim to explore participants’ experiences in order to better understand the opportunities and challenges associated with this form of support for physical activity.
