Industrial PhD Position in AI for Product Quality and Process Efficiency

At the department, education is conducted in the subjects of computer engineering, electronics, electrical engineering and sound production. The research at the department takes place at the research center Sensible Things that Communicate (www.miun.se/stc) and deals with sensor-based systems and services for use within the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence.

Mid Sweden University and SCA jointly invite applications for an Industrial PhD position focusing on the use of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced process data analytics to improve product quality and process efficiency in industrial production systems. The position is based in Sundsvall, Sweden.

As an Industrial PhD candidate, you will be employed by SCA while being formally enrolled as a doctoral student at Mid Sweden University. The research is conducted at the intersection of industry and academia, in close collaboration with researchers and experts in process development, data analytics, and AI. The project aims to deliver both high-quality scientific results and tangible industrial impact.
